Descendents are an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Manhattan Beach, California. The band's early sound was rooted in hardcore punk, but they later incorporated elements of skate punk and melodic hardcore into their music. They have released several albums on Epitaph Records and have been influential in the punk rock genre.
