About

It’s your house. Welcome to Jack This, a series about what house music means to us. Born in Chicago’s Black and queer club culture, carried through New Jersey, New York and Detroit, and reshaped in warehouses, basements and living rooms across Europe, it has never stopped moving. Yet at its core, it remains simple: warm, patient melodies pull you deeper, repetitive drums give you orientation, and a thumping bassline that pushes you forward. You can feel and hear that it’s about a shared experience: music made by and for human beings dancing in a room, not to be studied, but to be joined. No attitude, no pressure. Just good records, deep grooves and a room full of like-minded people moving to the same feeling.
