The Modern History & Friends at Nighthawks

About

The Modern History is playing its first ever Melbourne show, and we’re making a Sunday afternoon of it. Led by songwriter Brendan Bostock, The Modern History is a Melbourne indie rock band built on big guitars, honest songs and choruses that stick. Years of gigging around the Gold Coast and Brisbane left their mark: listen closely and you’ll hear hints of Lemonheads, Death Cab for Cutie, Nada Surf and the 90s Australian rock that soundtracked those years. Now based in Melbourne with Michael on bass and Fabry on drums and Steven on lead guitar, the band is ready to introduce itself properly. And they’re not doing it alone. Three of Melbourne’s own are joining the bill: Lanie Laynz Coconut Shy Ben Danks and the Bandits Four acts, one room, one afternoon of loud, local rock. Grab a drink, catch every band, and still be home in time for dinner. The best kind of Sunday session.
