We’re back with our last open air of the season, a crowd favourite and staple part of our annual calendar. The mighty stone steps of the Fairfield Amphitheatre! We can’t wait to dig in with you all on the leafy banks of the Birrarung. We’re beefing up the sound, adding a few bells and whistles and have invited some of the rudest selectors in town for a triple threat of Wax’o débuts! Ed Kent Don’t be fooled by the angelic exterior, Ed Kent is a weapon! Having started DJing at the age of 12, Kent already has more years under his belt than most. He’s spent these years honing the craft, cutting his teeth working in record stores, running parties and hosting radio shows. Call it cliché but he’s a “Deejay’s deejay’, possessing an undeniably unique and recognizable sound, weaving together IDM, grime, coldwave and industrial sounds, playing techno like it’s punk and punk like it’s techno. He’s the real deal and we’re lucky to have him join us! Septem FM If you’ve made it to the far end of the Naarm’s funkiest tramline (shoutout Capers crew!), chances are you’ve heard the sounds of Septem FM wafting through the smoke to entice you to the dancefloor. These guys have such a warm community focus, steezy af vibe and music-forward attitude. We can’t wait to be treated to the deepest corners of their record bags, welcoming Septem FM! Miki Last but far from least. We really wanted to end this season on a special note, and all roads led to Miki. One of our favourite selectors and people. Miki always seems to perfectly tread the illusive line between considered, intellectual selections, and a playful and inviting energy. And she does this expertly across a dizzyingly wide array of genres. We’ve been truly blessed to have Miki as our unofficial tour manager this Summer, and it feels only right to close it out with a big B3B!
