SONIC ODYSSEY

About

Sonic odyssey, def.: a musical offering / adventure during which multiple sonic weavers (DJs and live acts) get together to co-pilot a sonic aircraft (a moment where dancers and music lovers alike waltz together). For the fifth voyage of G L O W Z I 's sonic odyssey series, the artist welcomes a first live act - the brilliant Cakes da Killa - as well as their favourite sonic co-pilot / co-conspirator IAMNOTMYHISTORY once again. Cakes da Killa doesn’t ask for a seat at the table. He builds his own room, then charges cover. For more than a decade, the New York rapper has carved out a world entirely his own - where razor-sharp bars collide with house, hip hop and the pulse of the underground. armed with rapid-fire flow, wicked humor and undeniable presence, Cakes has built a career on refusing to be boxed in. An amazing sonic *and fashion connoisseur, and a dear friend, IAMNOTMYHISTORY is a Montréal-based DJ, curator, and archivist whose practice explores the intersections of sound, image, memory, and emotion. Through carefully constructed sonic narratives, she creates immersive environments that move fluidly across genres, geographies, and eras, transforming the dancefloor into a site of discovery, connection, and collective storytelling. Marking a first extended sonic odyssey, this night promises to be filled with delightful sonic soundscapes, ranging from gritty rap anthems to soulful sonic gems. À bientôt ? (!)
