Concerts in Melbourne This March

March 2026 is one of the heaviest months for live music Melbourne has seen in years. The concerts in Melbourne this March span Wu-Tang Clan's farewell tour at Rod Laver Arena, five sold-out runs at Forum Melbourne, a thrash metal double-header across Festival Hall and the Croxton, and a Tote calendar so packed it averages more than a show per day. Half the month is already behind us. Here is what happened, what is still coming, and where to get tickets for gigs in Melbourne through March 2026.

What You Missed

The first half of March delivered. Linkin Park played two nights at Rod Laver Arena (8 and 10 March) as part of the From Zero World Tour. ATEEZ opened the month at the same venue (2 and 3 March), and Hilltop Hoods followed immediately after (6 and 7 March). At Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Pulp played on 3 March and Basement Jaxx on 7 March. Babymetal brought Bloodywood and Magnolia Park to John Cain Arena on 17 March. The Moomba Festival ran its free live music stages from 5 to 9 March, Pitch Music & Arts took over the Grampians from 6 to 10 March with Charlotte de Witte headlining, and Live at the Gardens staged two weekends at the Royal Botanic Gardens featuring Cut Copy, Thelma Plum, Marlon Williams, and Bliss N Eso. At The Tote, Redd Kross with The Hard-Ons featuring Tim Rogers sold out on 15 March.

Arena and Large Venue Shows (March 18 Onward)

The remaining arena-level concerts lean toward hip-hop, country, and Mandopop, with one significant metal booking at Festival Hall.

Worth Noting

Wu-Tang Clan on 27 March is the big one. The Final Chamber tour is billed as the group's last. Some sources (including Visit Melbourne) incorrectly list Sidney Myer Music Bowl as the venue; the official Rod Laver Arena website, Billboard, and Blunt Magazine all confirm Rod Laver Arena. Tickets start around $220.

Anthrax with Alien Weaponry at Festival Hall on 26 March is a strong pairing. Alien Weaponry's te reo Māori thrash makes them one of the more distinctive support acts on any bill this month.

Country music is having a concentrated moment in Melbourne. Riley Green and Old Dominion have already played; Jordan Davis closes it out on 26 March at Rod Laver.

Theatre and Mid-Size Shows (March 18 Onward)

Forum Melbourne

Forum Melbourne's March run is effectively a sold-out residency. Four of the five remaining bookings have no tickets left.

Sepultura on 25 March is the only Forum show still moving tickets, and the "selling fast" tag suggests that will not last. This is the farewell tour; the band is retiring after nearly 40 years.

Max Watt's transitions to a Melbourne International Comedy Festival venue from 26 March, so Born of Osiris on 19 March and the weekend shows are the last music bookings there for the month.

The Croxton's final weekend is strong. Psychedelic Porn Crumpets on Friday and The Datsuns on Saturday is a double-header worth planning around if you like your rock loud and your tempos fast.

Guitar Wolf at The Tote on 27 March is the underground pick of the month. The Japanese garage-punk trio have been at it since 1987 and their live show remains one of the most ferocious going. Alien Nosejob on the same bill is a bonus.

Festivals Still to Come

Reminisce 2026

Saturday 21 March, Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Three stages of 90s and 2000s house and rave nostalgia. The lineup includes Felix Da Housecat, Digitalism, Princess Superstar, TV Rock vs Dirty South, CJ Bolland, and John Course. Tickets available via FloSale and Ticketmaster. If you were going to raves in Melbourne in 2003, this festival is pitched directly at you.

Stonnington Rhythm & Culture

Saturday 21 March, Prahran Square. Free community event with global beats and live music.

Free and Low-Cost Options

  • Bodriggy Brewing Company (Thu 19 Mar): Free jazz, electronic, hip-hop, and soul night.
  • Stonnington Rhythm & Culture (Sat 21 Mar): Free live music, Prahran Square.
  • Lakeside Alive (Sat 21 Mar): Free community live music, Caroline Springs.
  • Olympic Park Project community celebration (Thu 27 Mar): Free live music and markets, Heidelberg West.
  • Picnic in the Park (Sun 29 Mar, 5pm-7pm): Free live music, Montrose Village Green.
  • Kingston Youth Fest (Sun 29 Mar): Free live music and workshops, Bicentennial Park, Chelsea.
  • NGV Friday Nights (ongoing through April): Live music and DJs at NGV International.
  • The Tote shows typically run $10 to $25 for multi-band lineups. For the quality of music programmed, this is the best value in the city.

A Note on Rolling Loud

Rolling Loud Melbourne was scheduled for 8 March at Flemington Racecourse. It was cancelled after local promoter Primuse Entertainment failed to meet payment obligations. Refunds are available through official ticketing partners.

Practical Tips

  • Earplugs. Musician's earplugs with flat attenuation cost $20 to $40 and they protect your hearing without killing the sound. Bring them to every show, regardless of venue size.
  • Transport. Check the last train or tram time before you leave home. Rideshare surge pricing after major shows at Rod Laver Arena and Festival Hall is predictable; plan accordingly or budget for it.
  • Late additions. Smaller venues frequently add shows with a week's notice. Follow The Tote, Northcote Social Club, Howler, and The Night Cat on social media; their gig calendars update faster than aggregator sites.
  • Howler. Brunswick's Howler hosted over 15 events in March alone, including Brunswick Music Festival acts and international DJs. Full listings at moshtix.com.au.

Find Someone to Go With

March is too stacked to sit out because nobody in your group chat replied. Go solo if you have to. If you are looking for people heading to the same shows, Muse connects you based on shared music taste. It is built for exactly this situation.
